11/12/09 11:55Based on the latest information from the National Weather Service (NWS), Fairfax County is projected to receive 1" to 1-1/2" of rain in the next 24 hours and a potential tidal surge 1 to 2 feet above normal. This could result in water just entering Fenwick Drive but should not cause any house flooding in the Huntington area. This prediction should also not cause any house flooding in the Belle Haven community, although there may be some localized areas where water may pond in the streets in Belle Haven.

NWS has indicated that there is a lot of water in the mouth of the bay that is causing coastal flooding in the rivers. Winds coming from the North/Northeast will help reduce the tidal surge when it reaches our area.
